With the goal of anchoring Brazil in the best practices of Democracy and economic freedom, the Brazilian Government has been working on the process of becoming a full member of the OECD, a group which brings together the most open and industrialized economies on the planet.

Accordingly, the Brazilian Government has created an inter-agency group to evaluate, adapt and implement policies in line with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). To date, more than 100 of the organization's 246 legal instruments have been adopted.

The secretary-general of the OECD praised Brazil for a record never reached by any non-member country. And now, Brazil has adhered to all 8 mandatory instruments - starting after the codes for capital movement liberation became law last month in Brazil's new exchange framework.
